We are very happy to announce that our proposal for Tamworth Place in Croydon has achieved planning approval.
The proposal for a private developer on a highly constrained site in the Church Street Conservation Area includes 8 new homes and a modest commercial space (D2 use).
Making use of a central courtyard, which acts as a communal amenity space and circulation hub, the accommodation is arranged in two blocks. From an existing site condition which offers no soft surfaces at all, the proposal introduces a rich landscape design which follows the journey from street to central courtyard and into the private amenity spaces.
The two 3 storey blocks present a smart contemporary infill which references the varied character of the conservation area. Expressed in simple red brick tones sympathetic to the area the proposal improves the public realm along Tamworth Place.
We look forward to developing the project on site in 2020.
